Tadelakt is a plastering technique and material that originates from Morocco and has been used for over 1,000 years to create stunning decorative and waterproof walls in bathrooms, wet rooms, steam rooms and spas.

It is also used to create bathroom furniture like seats, wash basins and baths, all completely waterproof and it can have pigments added to it to create stunning feature walls. Tadelakt can be traditionally polished using special stones and olive oil soap for an extremely smooth and shiny finish that can look like marble.

It is used throughout North Africa in particular in Moroccan architecture, providing a beautiful traditional look and feel.

Having trained in a number of specialist plastering materials and techniques, Tadelakt is a firm favourite. Whilst it requires more time and attention, the results are really worth it.
